Wok is a restaurant chain founded in 1998 in Bogota. By 2011, Wok was on its path to becoming the first "green" restaurant chain in Colombia, following its strategic decision to integrally integrate societal and environmental dimensions into its value chain.
At that stage, by consolidating its position as the leader, more than philanthropic conclusions was needed from senior supervisors. How far should that transition progress? To what extent could Wok without endangering its competitive positioning marshal sector players? Did transition gains outweigh costs? Were the risks worthwhile?
