There are some who think the phrase "socially responsible business" a contradiction in terms, and who believe that the concept of corporate social responsibility is a trend, and indeed suspect. Others believe that this new doctrine deeper and wider responsibility for the business deeply pernicious because it diverts commercial organizations on what they do best: make a profit for their shareholders.
