"Sowing the Development of the Country" (SDC) was a public-private partnership in between Wal-Mart Puerto Rico (Wal-Mart Public Relations), the island's Department of Agriculture along with its Economic Development Bank (EDB), two NGOs "Caborrojeños Pro Salud y Ambiente" (Caborrojeños Pro Health and Environment) along with ConectaRSE (a business social duty (CSR) promo non-governmental company(NGO)), and a group of regional farmers. The goal of the task was to promote sustainable development on the island by motivating farmers to end up being business owners by establishing little agro-businesses. Wal-Mart worked as the main purchaser.

Because Wal-Mart was figured out to ensure the connection and growth of the SDC job, Wal-Mart had to step into the task champ function. Students will be exposed to problems such as: 1) adjusting an international business's global CSR techniques to regional conditions; 2) establishing methods to additional regional financial development through market forces and entrepreneurship; 3) examining the benefits and drawbacks of collaborations with federal governments and civil society; and 4) producing and handling a public-private partnership.
