Like many other firms; the Volvo Group had a strong imbalance between men and women at all levels; notably in direction. In response to this; several actions were signified by the Volvo Group. The case describes the application; including supervisors; its components; and its development ’ and the company’s experiences with it.
The program has been successful in helping men and women work more constructively together. The “Walk the Talk” plan was apparently a success at Volvo. The challenging question is whether non-Swedish organizations could use the same approach efficiently and what resistance it might meet. Learning objective: to discuss new content for sex- diversity training and the conditions under which different kinds of diversity initiatives can achieve success.
