As the co-founder of a software platform called Ushahidi, Ory Orykolloh watches the unfolding catastrophic earthquake catastrophe in Haiti and must determine how the crisis of her company's -mapping applications might guide international authorities as they shift into Haiti to give assistance and relief.
Ushahidi was developed as an open-sourced mash up place converging Google Maps with publicized reports of occurrences of disputes and violence in Kenyan 2007 elections, thus the system efficiently managed to overcome government censorship.
