TTTech (A):Seeking Growth and Scale in New and Existing Markets Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

TTTech, located in Vienna, Austria, had initiated an innovative new technology-time-activated networks for embedded computer systems. By the year 2010, TTTech had full-fledged into a US$25 million business by supplying high-end technical solutions to customers with time, assignment, and security-critical conditions. Despite the end of successful, high-profile jobs such as these, TTTech's overall increase had reached something of a plateau amid the international economic crises of 2009. Time-triggered technology was progressive but, in some cases, was more complex than what was currently required by the business's target customers. It was also not sufficiently simple, the sales process was labor intensive and generally had to start with engineering then work its way upward through product development to executive management. In TTTech's principal industry sections, automotive and aerospace, customers were hesitant to make quick decisions, had expanded layout cycles, and were known for being relatively old-fashioned when it came to adopting new technologies (partly due to the fact that TTTech's technology influenced its customers' safety critical systems). Some were also facing challenging financial times, linked to the economic decline and particularly in the automotive area.

On top of these other confrontations, many of TTTech's projects demanded a goodly service constituent that was not directly replicable from account to account and a high degree of customization.
