Since its start in 1972, ICRISAT really has been a premier agricultural research institute with tremendous international and national capital. Mismanagement and indifferent approach of senior leadership at the top had resulted in multiple crises in organizational performance and decreased capital by the donors.
Along with this, ICRISAT needed to cope with an ill-fated chain of developments in leadership. ICRISAT had to undergo an arduous amount of management changes and decline in the morale of the staff.
