In 2005, the governor of Arizona signed a decree to create a road map to achieve the state of electronic medical staff communication between the different entities in the system of care. The project roadmap, key initiatives for Arizona, led primarily by the State CIO. Being one of the first states to develop a road map state, Arizona, is now recognized as a national leader in healthcare IT. While the CIO and his team have successfully launched a large-scale transformation in the country, they now face the challenge of converting the plan into reality.
