Titan Products Inc.: Acquisition of Franz Schuler GMBH (A) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case is designed to allow the two integration teams, each of which represents one of the two very different companies, to build a joint post-acquisition integration plan: Titan Products, Inc, a large, publicly traded, the North American multinational (about $ 3 billion in annual sales) and Franz Schuler GMBH, smaller, family and management of the European company (about $ 500 million in annual sales). Some of the issues addressed in this role-playing game case include (1) the organization Schuler, (2) staffing of management positions, (3) the joint distribution channels, (4) resolution of cultural conflict, (5) Center for Strategic and operational decisions, and ( 6) performance indicators to assess the success of the acquisition. Role playing takes about 60 minutes of team training, 30 minutes of negotiations, and a normal session of the class (85 minutes), to query. Instructions and questions for the purpose of the case are autonomous. "Hide
