The case concentrates on the resort's Director of Rooms and, in particular, the hotel's lucrative mini-bar department. A significant face lift for the rooms in the property provides a chance to replace the refrigeration units in the mini bar, units which have been in place for more than a decade.
The Director is contemplating either a more energy-saving version of the current unit the KN346, or a substantially more expensive unit. The latter has some interesting electronic features including detection technology and peer-to-peer networking that, collectively, would enable remote real-time access to the mini bar stock.
