Technology allows people to easily recover from a network of contacts that have been dormant. And it appears that reconnection dormant relationship can be extremely useful. In one experiment, the advice that leaders received from the bonds that have been dormant for at least three years to be useful, and often more helpful than the advice they have received from the current relationship. Big winnings dormant ties is the fact that: (1) They are great sources of sudden new ideas, (2) reconnection is extremely effective, as it requires minimal time and (3) reconnection is not like starting a relationship with zero.
