Rapid advancement in the last few decades demands to restructure the governance to incorporate the innovation, flexibility, and creativity in the structures. However, the rapid increase of wicked problems has caused the emergence of ‘temporary’ organization, whose core function is just to meet the objectives and then dissolves.
This article comprises of such organizations’ examples such as The Gate Foundation, UNITAID, GlaxoSmithKline, and Merck Pharmaceuticals, as an integrative approach was used by these firms to wrestle with AIDS.
Five prominent characteristics are identified by the author that are needed to have to produce a long term impact by these short term organization, form to achieve only one objective.
