The Federal Republic of Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. Estimated in July 2009, it was the eighth-largest country in the world. With an area roughly twice the state of California, Nigeria is rich in natural resources, especially oil. However, the country seemed to mineral wealth equally of economic, social and political problems. For decades, the country is struggling with violent military rule, ethnic and religious strife, and the uneven distribution of resources. However, recent reforms and developments in key sectors to enhance economic growth and stimulate a sense of optimism for the future of the country. The question was whether or not Nigeria can sustain this momentum, overcome key challenges and create a business environment that allowed to compete at international level.
