Introduction
Organization Behavior relates to all aspects of the behaviors of the humans that take place within the context of the organizations. It also includes the behaviors of the individuals when they act as individuals and when they act as a part of a team or a group. The topic that we have selected for this term paper related to the field of Organizational behavior is ‘Communication in the Workplace.’ Communication plays an important role in an organizational setting as it determines and influences the behavior of the employees working in the organization.
Communication within the workplace or organization communication is the process where all the members of the organization gather the pertinent information about their organization and the changes that are taking place within the organization. The primary purpose of communication within the workplace is to inform all the employees about their job responsibilities and duties in the workplace(Fay, 2011). Apart from this, another important objective of communication is to form a community within the organization.
Useful communication in the organizations changes the attitudes of the employees by informing them and educating them at all levels of the organization. This in turn motivates the employees and they strive to achieve the organizational strategy. In this term paper, we discuss the importance of communication in the workplace and how it influences the organizational behavior(English, 2001). Along with this, we discuss the advantages of communication in the work place and how it helps the organizations in times of organizational change.

Smart leaders of the businesses have always known that when workers of the organization are happy they become more productive and benefit their organizations. There are different aspects of organizational communication that have been discussed by different research studies. These aspects include transparency, accuracy and openness, organizational procedures and policies, adequacy of information and performance feedback. These all aspects of communication in the workplace are directly correlated to the feelings of happiness of the employees in the work place, job satisfaction and their performance on the job(Houmanfar, 2003).
When communication is effective in organization it results in positive attitudes of the employees of the organization. It results in higher employee performance and perceived organizational support. The best strategy of the communication forces the leaders to listen to others(Kandlousi, 2010). Good form of communication and communicating well with others means respecting the other because leaders don’t need only be able to command their followers but they should be more interested to hear to the opinions of their followers therefore, communicating with them is equally important(English, 2001).
Communication is the most ethical form of strategy through which equity can prevail within the organizations. A true communicator is the one, which listens to the ideas, opinions and the aspirations of the others in the organization. Communication and especially two-way communication is highly effective in building strong relationships within the organization. Leadership communication is truly an art and it demands that leaders should communicate with others with empathy and make them feel comfortable emotionally(Kaul, 2008). Now we discuss the impact of communication on the attitudes, job satisfaction and happiness of the employees.

When employers recognize that bidirectional communication creates new avenues for building the organizational commitment and recognizing the employee contributions and it results in higher performance of the organizations.
