Tampa General Hospital: The Politics of Privatization (Sequel) Case Solution
The protagonist in this case is New York born doctor, Bruce Siegel. In 1996, he takes a place as president of a financially distressed public hospital, Tampa General. Siegel must consider both the prospect of privatizing the shortage-ridden hospital, at the exact same time walking a political tightrope due to the demand to obtain the acceptance of local elected officials for whatever path he plots.
His options are affected by the fact that Tampa's sizeable African American community has been convinced that privatization of the hospital will result in a diminution of services for low income persons of color locally. Siegel, himself the son of a Haitian mother, must cope with anticipations that, as a person of color himself, he'll hew to the consensus strategy of the Tampa's black community-at the exact same time understanding nicely that if doesn't put the hospital's finances in order, he hazards doing serious injury to his profession as a medical administrator.
