As the dynamic global business environment continues to compel organizations to be agile and adaptive, international business (IB) education pedagogy is transforming. Building on previous literature describing unaddressed stakeholder needs, as well as differences in IB pedagogy, we first use our institution-the United States Air Force Academy-as an example of IB program development. In analyzing the development of our program, we develop five questions that could provide insight seeing more IB pedagogy tendencies that are generalizable. To assess this potential generalizability, we investigate questions associated with the development of our program using self- reported -accessible websites of the top full time MBA programs throughout the United States.
Our questions focus on the purpose of foreign languages, study abroad opportunities, capstone/thesis projects, integrative courses, and faculty development. Our investigation signals that these five questions are important not only for students analyzing possible IB programs, but in addition for teachers developing future plans. Also, our research examines a sixth question focused on the development of program differentiation and competitive placement in IB systems. We aspire to motivate future query into IB pedagogy, which could educate more powerful means of improving IB instruction.
