Despite the differences between their fields, environmentalists gave a lot of interesting ideas that are potentially useful for strategic management. The authors show that the environment and the strategy has much to learn from each other, and exchange between the fields can lead to a richer and more compelling understanding of organizational strategy. They define and describe three specific areas for cross-fertilization between disciplines: demography and competition positional advantage, and the inertia and change.
