Steve Jones, a senior analyst with investment capital Stonehill, among other duties, was to make sure his team is prepared step book that provided all the figures and graphs necessary to acquire the client's business. Jones was already overloaded so he drew his trainee, Joe Livingston, to help with this task. As the deadline approached, Jones and Livingston worked 18-hour days preparing step book and were very tired and sleep deprived. The morning after the day increments, Jones received a letter from the Vice-President of the investment banking told him that the bank's transaction team were embarrassed to explain the errors in the pitch book during their meeting to try to secure the deal.
