Sophis Networks and Encryption Export Controls (A) Case Solution

The vice president of the Security Products Division of Sophis Networks together with the Government Affairs Group had spent the previous two and a half years working closely with Congress and the Clinton administration to relax U.S. export restrictions on encryption products (because export restrictions meant lost revenue for U.S. firms like Sophis and other such firms, and its foreign market had a demand for products with the greatest encryption available). Despite this,  U.S President discarded the SAFE Act, which was to cut down U.S. export restrictions.The vice president and the Government Affairs Group at Sophis needed to develop a "marketplace" strategy and execution plan to relax encryption export controls.
