Dave Roux, cofounder and chairman of Silver Lake, a private equity (PE) company specializing in technology investments, was meeting with the firm's investment committee via video conference to discuss options for Silver Lake's future increase. Roux believed a number of chances still existed, while the private equity marketplace had suffered since the economic crisis in the autumn of 2008. There was significant interest within the firm to carry on to start additional outposts in foreign states and to provide new asset class investment products.
