Sports performance isn't the unique part of a sports star's market value. While some less talented players who engage in social media and bring enthusiasts in millions profit from exorbitant contracts feeble media exposure undermines some gifted players. This research conceptualizes the effect of social networking in the sports business and assesses the recipes which lead to high market value for sports stars.
The empirical results show that sports functionality and social networking task are both necessary but insufficient conditions for a high market value state. This research present a roadmap for supervisors and sports stars to navigate in the social networking stadium.
