Scholtes Waterservices Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Scholtes Waterservices was the second generation of the family firm in the Netherlands, which specializes in the sale and installation of water pipes, especially for the horticultural industry. In 2008, Rijk Scholtes-Jr. and his brother, Ben, took over the company from his father, and gradually assumed the property through redemption plan. It soon became apparent that their father, Rijk senior, could not let go of. This is particularly evident Rijk-junior, he worked in an office next to the place where Rijk senior living. As a result, the relationship between father and son became steadily worse. In addition, Rijk Jr. started to feel isolated as the relationship and cooperation between the senior and Rijk Ben was not injured. Instead, the once strong relationship between the two brothers began to deteriorate.
