Risk Control Strategies: Human Resource Challenges Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

A canine training security company, Risk Control Strategies formed in late 2005, in Islamabad, Pakistan. It aimed to provide a highly secure environment to their clients. The company used the references by current employees for hiring, but this induction process also contributed to the turnover. Many of the friends and relatives of current employees often returned to their families, to help in harvests as many of them were from villages.

The company used an exhaustive two month training program, including a number of different sessions. This thorough training program ultimately increased the value of trainees and they frequently switch for higher compensation to different organizations, without considering the additional benefit provided by Risk Control Strategies including free accommodation, basic health and education coverage for the families, and medical benefits.

The company needed an immediate strategy to retain the employees prior to objective of expansion of the company, as it costs a lot to the company for training.  The authors are affiliated with National University of Science and Technology.
