This is the first of three series of cases. Richard Debenham Operations Manager is running on the main Australian licensee of the world's leading producer of soft drinks. In 1990, accompanied by his family, he moved from Sydney to the company's European base in Vienna of soft drinks market in Central and Eastern Europe. With a little help from their local Austrian colleagues, Richard starts negotiating franchise agreements and property witnessed many political changes that take place after the fall of the Iron Curtain and the Velvet Divorce, dissolution of Czechoslovakia. Over time, the company is successfully expanding eastward. However, due to changes in the headquarters of the senses Richard increasing difficulties in returning to Sydney, until he gets an offer to manage the program of the Olympic Games of Sydney home.
