In 2006, the surgeon Ara Darzi identified several key areas, including emergency stroke for improving health care across London. In response to his seminal call to action, stroke care has been reorganized around eight hyper-acute stroke units covering London five sectors, replacing more than thirty units, which previously delivered acute stroke care. This case profiles the introduction of a new model of health care in the North Central London, where acute stroke care previously fragmented among five acute trusts hospital with various care resources, capacity, and protocols. In the new model, the treatment of stroke will be delivered by means of an integrated manner, with a hyper-acute facility, designed to help the most acute and severe cases. "Hide
