After Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in August 2005, the State has more than 102 of the 118 public schools in New Orleans and moved the management structure of the "common school system to school system." Entrepreneurs from the region and across the country flocked to New Orleans to run the schools and provide the talent of these schools need to help their students succeed.
