An Indian business was intending to set up a Global Design Competence Centre (GDCC) in India. The company offered scented candles and holiday and present products chiefly for the U.S. market. Through its two American subsidiary companies, it made and sold its products to large American mass- independent retailers and merchandisers.
In house design aptitude also existed across America and India in the kind of six teams. Through the GDCC, the business intended to use Indian designers in collaboration with U.S. designers to create products for the U.S. marketplace. The case brings students into exploring strategies that are potential to set up the GDCC. Authors Ajith J. Kumar and A. Sivakumar are affiliated with T.A. Pai Management Institute.
