Prashanti Technologies’ ethic committee needed to make a decision against the vice president and the junior manager, who were accused of conducting a workplace affair. The company is a multinational corporation headquartered situated in Mumbai, India. The vice president was reviewing a report from the external audit team before a meeting of the company’s ethic committee.
The main agenda of the committee was to determine the extent of the reality of this affair, the vice president was the head of the company’s financial services division and he was accused by an anonymous whistleblower of conducting an affair with a subordinate.
Along with this he also found guilty for promoting the subordinate by assigning her responsibilities that she did not deserve. Ultimately, the subordinate also took the undue advantage of her authority by giving orders to the rest of the team. The committee had to decide that what should be the penalty for the VP for this misconduct in the work place.
