Practice of Active Private Equity Firms in Latin America Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

The purpose of this note is to provide a general private equity investment firm and practices in Latin America at the beginning of 2001. The study was designed with the field interviews conducted by the authors with 20 local and regional funds in December 2000 and January 2001, the four most famous countries in the region: Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico. Sample sponsors were chosen based on their strategy of investment capital under management, and the background, and was intended to be as diverse as possible to cover a wide range of practices and not to focus on homogeneous subsets.
