In late 2010, Nokia is faced using a fundamental strategic decision. Its competitive position has been eroding fast, and its present operating system -Symbian- cannot be updated to compete against Apple's i-Google and OX’s Android platforms. Progress is not fast, although Nokia has had a new operating system for many years. Additionally, it needs to measure the innovations of the chances of the success, their future strategies, along with its own prospective partners. The case permits a comparison of their organizational capabilities, and the tactical choices of Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nokia and Samsung.
