Multinational corporations (MNCs) can contribute to the building of civil society in developing countries, and the enlightened self-interest in this matter. Development of civil society and solidified level playing field, thereby protecting long-term investment on the unpredictable social backlash and arbitrary interference by the State. At the same time, the response of the host country OLS-civil society cooperation can range from friendly to hostile, depending on the type of joint activities.
