The goal was to provide focus for all workers of the unit, enabling it to work on an integrated basis. After the scorecard of the unit was developed, the general manager challenged the project team to expand the attempt out to every worker in the business unit.
The team began by building a cause and effect tree that linked high level business unit goals down to jobs or places for every person. The team then visited all places, using the cause and effect tree to link the strategy and scorecard of the unit to people' duties. This case describes their impact on worker behaviour and the building of person BSCs.
