This case is the follow-up, "Mistry Architects: Innovation for Sustainable Development" (A) (housing 609-044) and (B) (Case 609-086). In case (a) Sharukh and Renu Mistry founded and run an architectural firm dedicated to be both client-based and environmentally responsible. It uses a hard decision to design a tsunami rehabilitation project to illustrate the challenges facing professional services firms, as well as the role of innovation in meeting the needs of different stakeholders. The particular design decision to make the choice between thatch roofs that are environmentally friendly, as compared to reinforced cement concrete roofs that residents wish for their functionality. Case (B) shows and explains the choice of the company, describing how the community regenerates itself after the tsunami, as well as how to develop businesses.
