Medicines for Malaria Venture: Accessing the Inaccessible! Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Malaria leads to over 1 million deaths every year, 90% of which are preventable. Drug resistance is now one of the most important obstacles to effective treatment. The most economical and most widely-used drugs are not effective in most states. Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) was founded in 1999 with the goal of developing new artemisinin combination therapies (ACT) to efficiently treat the ailment.

A public-private-partnership, its mission is really to find, develop and deliver new treatment. With three new commodities in the conclusive stages of development and a further 30 in the pipeline, MMV faces challenges with the supply of medicines whose development is not impossible.
