This case tells the story of McAfee Associates, which has been a leader in anti-virus software. Case provides extensive experience in John McAfee, founder and anti-virus software industry, as revealed in the late 1980s and early 1990s. John McAfee realized the potential in protecting computers from viruses and created a small software package that will help solve this problem. He distributed the product primarily conventionally, giving a product of free individuals. However, corporate customers had to pay for the software. At the same time, McAfee Associates has grown into a $ 5 million revenue business with a 90% operating margin, and had good prospects for continued rapid growth.
