It investigates the sourcing encounters of four companies in four different countries in the automotive industry and identifies the raw material sourcing knowledge-related boundaries. The findings were amalgamated from these case scenarios, it proposes the concept of the sourcing hub, a collaborative centre involving the company, its providers, and raw material suppliers, which can efficiently capture and deploy the raw material sourcing knowledge for handling value in upstream sourcing.
