Abstract
This case is about the usefulness of the big data and analytics in the organization and how value and operational efficiencies can be created by making the use of the big data analytics in the organization. The CEO Brett had been conducting the quarterly review to analyze the performance of the big data analytics at his company but he does not recognize the usefulness of the big data analytics in any of the departments of the company. He thinks that big data tools generate too much data but little useful information. He is conducting the quarterly review and taking the advices of the vice presidents of manufacturing function, information technology function and the human resource function who have stated the benefits and the usefulness of the big data analytics in their respective areas.However, Brett disagrees with them all therefore, we conducted a detailed analysis of the case in the light of the growth of big data tools and technologies and the benefits it is actually providing within all the departments of the company.
