La Fageda is a social initiative that uses the mentally retarded and mentally ill in the region Garrotxa (Girona), helping them to integrate into society through the production and distribution of top quality yogurt. This study puts the growth of alternatives and their consequences. La Fageda and its management will be embodied in the person of Cristobal Colon, its founder and chairman. What began as a product of cooperation now is a complex structure consisting of business and consumer cooperatives and two funds (grant fund and support), where the management, governance and other interests dovetail.
