Kosmos Energy (Space) was founded in 2003 by a small group of oil and gas industry veterans with the support of private capital. The initial plan of the company was to explore for oil along the coast of West Africa. If a commercial discovery has been made, the Cosmos will sell assets for exploration and production (E & P) companies. In 2007, Kosmos and its partners announced a major discovery in the deepwater offshore Ghana. Three years later, in December 2010, Space was at a crossroads. The first oil discovery in Ghana, now called the Jubilee, was delivered in November 2010. Earlier this year, the sales contract with ExxonMobil interest Space "in Ghana was terminated.
