It took Phil Knight sixteen long years to build Nike's number one sports-shoe company in the country. When Knight was conceived of the project MBA class, Adidas had more than 80% of the market, but the Knights were marketing approach revolutionized the industry, the company has developed several innovative footwear technology, and the brand Nike, has become one of the most recognizable in the world. In 1980, the same year Nike Adidas knocked from his throne, Nike went public and Knight, the founder, CEO, still owns nearly half of the company.
