Integrated Project Delivery at Autodesk, Inc. (A) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Color cases should be printed in colour, to maximize their effectiveness. Describes Autodesk's participation in Integrated Project Delivery-a brand new model of risk management, inter-company teamwork, and multi-objective (aesthetic, cost, and sustainability) optimization in construction jobs.

During the job, however, Autodesk was discontented with the design progress, and requested the project team to introduce a three-story atrium in the headquarters' design. Logistically, it was not a good time to make changes as the team had already made important design progress. The team was also working under a tight financial plan and delivery deadline. On the other hand, the aesthetics would seem to be significantly improved by changing the design. The project's architect and contractor had to decide whether accommodating the atrium into work sequencing and the present program was an acceptable risk.
