Till 2013, Indian Metal Company headquartered in eastern India in Metconagar, had been a leading metallurgical company in India for 100 years. It was annoyed by escalating attrition of professionals and difficulty in attracting candidates from top educational institutions meanwhile it had ambitious expansion plans, both at home and abroad. This shortage of ability could endanger the company's investments.
The meeting finished in a confusing barrage of views andcounter arguments. A committee was named to synthesize the contending views and prepare a master plan for talent management. It introduced its work by reviewing previous data related to attrition and holding discussions with small groups of young professionals. The time had arrived for it to prepare its report and recommendations.
