This case describes Johnny Fernandes' new enterprise, a digital-based, entertainment and lifestyle magazine for the iPad, called iMag. He spent the preceding five months conceptualizing iMag along with developing a team of technical specialists to help him develop iMag.While running into distinct challenges, (i.e., no risk-free revenues, doubt about the development of rich media advertisements, small financial resources) the fast expansion of the tablet PC market and its corresponding applications signify that Johnny has a true business opportunity in front of him.
First of all, pupils need to put themselves in the shoes of Johnny and design a detailed action plan that ensures iMag's future in this up and coming industry. Second, pupils must recognize chances and the threats in competing globally from an early stage for iMag.
