In an age of ever-changing technology, the challenge for a social entrepreneur will be to contend with the quick rate of change. With the development of a new product - a mechanical charger, the entrepreneur in this case became an entrepreneur with a concern for the environment and energy conservation. His firm, ideaForge, made and sold other conventional chargers such as bike chargers: mechanical chargers and two types of products. The mechanical charger, an innovation of ideaForge, was a product which could generate electricity through mechanical operation.
While the sales of mechanical chargers were falling, the sales of other standard chargers were increasing. The company confronted two major hurdles while administering the corporation: how to promote this advanced merchandise to customers used to traditional mobile phone chargers, and whether the item range should increase or focus on current commodities. The criteria that must be made was whether to advertise only through distribution channels or via a sales force, or both. The energetic entrepreneur, accompanied by his two cofounders, additionally needed to make conclusions on price and how to position their goods in the industry. With a changing marketplace scenario, several initiatives and calculated risks would need to be taken if they desired to develop new product offerings, including notebook chargers and cycle chargers, each of which will mean diversifying the business.
