HP: The Computer is Personal Again Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In September 2008, Todd Bradley, executive vice president of Hewlett-Packard Company's Personal Systems Group (PSG) assembled his ideas before a meeting with his top executives and managers for product design and promotion. On the agenda was a discussion of tactical next steps for the group.

Hewlett Packard (HP), a technology firm providing a broad variety of products and services including computers, handheld devices, servers and digital entertainment, employed 172,000 individuals and posted $104 billion in sales in 2007. PSG, one of the three major divisions of HP, offered laptop and desktop monitors, handheld mobile computing devices, personal computers, workstations, and associated support services. Bradley's PSG had played a significant role in the financial success of HP over the previous three years.
