An Excel macro is a group of lines of commands that could perform certain tasks (e.g. getting info from another Excel file or net, updating computations, generating reports, running versions, etc.) mechanically. Macros reduce user errors, can save time and do jobs that would be tremendously difficult to do by a user otherwise. This note is an opening to macros and macro recording in Excel with examples.
