This case analyzes the "Family Business Constitution" created by Dawu Group's creator, Sun Dawu. The system made it possible for the group to survive near-deadly challenges. The case starts with a salary: challenges Sun Dawu encountered -rise request from a recently elected board member; some supervisors' uncertainties about the constitution system; and the feeling of journalists and external experts of the group's elections. The case examines the history of Dawu Group, the "Family Business Constitution" system as well as the strategy Sun Dawu took to address the sequence issue. One of many problems the family business owner confronted was whether it was feasible to solve the internal predicaments and external extricacies about government and family business succession and, if so, how?
