Despite concerns about censorship and putting users in jeopardy, Google decided to launch Google.cn in 2006. Google stated that it'd monitor states in China and even reconsider its strategy to China if merited. Three years later, in December 2009, an extensive and sophisticated cyber attack that targeted businesses and particular workers within the businesses was found by Google. Google inquired the attack and announced that it would alter its strategy in China.
Its search business subsequently moved to Hong Kong to outside the firewall that was great. This case investigates the ethical dilemmas raised by Google's foray into the Chinese marketplace while attempting to adhere to its slogan of "Don't Be Bad." The case also classify the market penalty of its choice to withdraw from China and the reactions of its adversaries and Chinese businesses with which it had been working.
