Good Business Creates Good Business: Southwest Creations Collaborative (B) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Southwest Creations Collaborative (SCC) was a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to promoting employment and financial independence of the poor immigrant women in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He sought to fulfill its mission by providing part-time and later full-time sewing and hand made in the contract manufacturing business. SCC also many social activities programs for employees, including site child care, English classes, medical education, and computer classes. Financial support for the organization came from the combination of the employment contract and grants. Two cases stretch the life of the SCC, since its establishment in 1994 until mid-2008. Case (A) covers the initial formation of the organization in 1994, in terms of the founder and executive director, and leads to the point of making a decision about a possible relationship with socio consulting group of companies in 2005. Case (b) begins where Case () ends, and ends with the decision in 2008 on whether to extend its business to become economically self-sufficient and less dependent on grants and donations, and whether to increase its impact on your marketing approach to employee social programs of local companies and other organizations.
