The skills of producing pleasing combination form conflicting tensions always lead towards the major innovation, says the author. For instance, the need to prevent the chances of failure and the pressure to incorporate risks for potential outcomes; or the needs of getting outputs rapidly and liberty to explore ‘the most ideal way’. Although, most of the time the harmonizing of conflicting tensions passes by the wayside, and trade-off are made that sub-enhance the efforts to increase value. The author presents a skill to overcome this trade-off: intentional goal conflict. On this approach, he demonstrates two illustrations to outline precisely how it meets expectations, cut from the chronicles of innovation at Toyota.
